UCCE

UCCE logo
The business idea of UCCE went from just selling coins to manufacturing coin sets. UCCE was founded in spring-time 2003.
Here I will show some prestige coin sets that UCCE made. See also List of coinages.

UCCE stampSome nice things we also had was our own stamp that we used in all of our letters to different associations of Europe. It was quite fun to have your own official stamp as a small company. Normally only kings and queens have their own stamps, so a company having their own got some nice reactions out of people. In Finland, every once in a while, it is possible for anyone to have their own stamp.

When UCCE was founded, Eero Lehti was the chairman of the board (also CEO). I became the CEO when I turned 18 (see the article in Kauppalehti 20.10.2003). After me, in autumn 2004, Peter Horemans, the CEO of the Tintin company Moulinsart SA, became the CEO of UCCE. At the same time I went to be the Chairman of the Board. Peter was the CEO until March 2005.

Euroset Collection

This product family called the ‘Euroset collection’ was done for Sokos (a Finnish warehouse chain with 21 stores). Anyone could buy the coins that they were missing from their collection. You had three packs: one with 1c, 2c, and 5c coins, the second with the coins 10c, 20c, and 50c and a third one with 1e and 2e coins. The prices for the two first ones were 2.90 € and 6.90 for the last one. Sokos had a profit margin of around 30-50% depending on the product; our profit was around 35% after all expenses. The whole deal was worth over 150 000€...

And here are some nice sets that we also did.

Pororahasarja
The reindeer coin set was the most sold set of UCCE... I think we did over 15 000 of these...

Hugo Boss coinage

Demos of how would Hugo Boss coin sets would look like. We send nice printed images of these computer-generated models but never got any answers... Soon after this we started working on the Tintin project.

The James Dean coin set. We never got to make this set, just the prototypes, since UCCE went belly-up before this was completed. You could also call this the set that killed UCCE, but it still is a very, very nice coinage. See also James Dean coinnage 3D flash
